What Do We Do?

We specialize in cultivating inclusive themed events for Denver’s sapphic, queer and trans community. We do pop-up events throughout the city, typically on a quarterly-basis. Our events have DJs, drag, burlesque, a photo booth, artist vendors, crafting activities, etc. A portion of the proceeds from each event are donated to a different grassroots, values-aligned LGBTQIA+ serving organization.

Our Values

Our values are integral to how we operate in partnership with our community. Our organizational values are joy, creativity, mutual aid, abolition and transformative justice.

Our History

The organizers had a shared passion for themed parties, supporting local artists and giving back through mutual aid and we figured, why not combine all three?

Back in 2022, we were connected with the owner of Fort Greene Bar, in Globeville. We explained our vision – themed party for a cause where 100% of proceeds would go back to a grassroots LGBTQIA+ serving organization. Even though we were complete strangers, the owner took a chance on us and let us take over the bar one evening for our first event, “MasQUEERade: A Queer Prom”. The proceeds from this event went to Fortaleza Familiar, a non-profit that supports Latinx/Indigenous queer and trans youth and their families. The event sold out about a week out from the event and was a huge success. We thought, “I guess we should do more?” It was obvious there was a need for more sapphic spaces that are inclusive and accessible, so we rolled with it and have been organizing ever since.

Our Community Agreements

We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment, unwanted touch, homophobic, biphobic, transphobic, racist, xenophobic, sexist, ableist or any other discriminatory behavior. Always ask before touching anyone at our events. If someone is making you uncomfortable or harassing you, please ask for a Sapphic Social Club team member or security. We will address the situation swiftly and discreetly.

These spaces center queer and trans folks, however, anyone is welcome in the space. If you are entering the space as an ally, please be cognisant of how much space you are taking up.

We appreciate you being a part of our goal of creating spaces that are as affirming, safe and joyful as possible.
